Job Title: Tax Manager
Location: Greenville, SC
Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 (Depends on Experience)
THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE
Position Overview: The Tax Manager will be responsible for planning organizing and managing tax functions for this accounting firm.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and examine business, individual, and other tax returns, as well as federal, state, and municipal filings for various clientele.
Examine tax returns for completeness, correctness, and adherence to the law. Give advice and comments to raise the caliber of tax returns and guarantee that strict guidelines are followed.
Compile and evaluate tax estimates and projections.
Keep records on fixed assets.
Compile and examine property tax returns.
On behalf of clients, reply to notices from federal and multijurisdictional authorities
Ensure that all tax information is accurately and neatly documented, including client records, communications, and workpapers. Make ensuring that corporate policies and recordkeeping standards are followed.
Interact with clients to obtain relevant tax data, respond to inquiries, and offer tax planning guidance. To guarantee client happiness and retention, cultivate and preserve solid client connections.
Provide support and guidance to contractual clients while collaborating with the recurring client teams.
Make efficient use of tax preparation software to guarantee computation accuracy and expedite the tax preparation procedure. Keep current with software upgrades and functional changes.
Effectively manage your workload to fulfill customer expectations and tax filing deadlines. Set priorities for your work and use resources wisely to guarantee that your tax returns are completed on schedule.
Provide advice on tax preparation methods, software use, and client communication while mentoring and training staff members and senior tax preparers. Encourage a cooperative and encouraging team atmosphere.
Engage in continuing education to stay up to date on tax matters.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or Tax
4+ years of Public Accounting Experience
Experience with income tax prep and planning
CPA/CMA preferred
