Job Title: Sr EHS Coordinator
Location: Griffin, GA
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000
Based in Griffin we are a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of a wide range of products for the foodservice industry. Due to growth and demand for our services, we are in need of hiring for a Sr EHS Coordinator that possesses strong experience with OSHA 30, DOT, and ISO 14001
Responsibilities:
- Offers subject matter expertise in a variety of fields, such as environmental management, compliance, occupational safety, risk management, and/or occupational health, through education, training, and/or experience.
- Help with the creation and execution of efficient programs for industrial hygiene, ergonomics, safety, and occupational health, as well as the upkeep of policies and procedures and health services.
- Make sure the facility complies with OSHA regulations on, among other things, powered industrial trucks (PITs); ongoing and new hire safety training; lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and chemical safety; and all required recordkeeping and reporting, such as OSHA 300 Logs.
- Support the management team with root cause analysis and accident or injury investigations.
- Serve as a resource for information on safety and security issues.
- Organize the EHS orientation for new hires and oversee the onboarding EHS training.
- Support the creation and execution of the yearly EHS training program for supervisors and front-line staff.
- Maintain legal, governmental and company environmental, health, medical and safety-related records according to standards, including confidentiality.
- Make sure all levels of operations management are aware of EHS initiatives at the site, such as behavior safety, the safe work permit procedure, safety observations, near miss reporting, process safety management, etc., and suggest ways to increase their efficacy.
- Help with any regulatory visits, investigations, or inspections (OSHA, EPA, DOT, ISO), as well as recordkeeping and OSHA investigations.
- Encourage the use of EHS Management systems (ISO 1401) by supporting the creation and administration of ISO 14001 programs and documents, such as MOC, Mngt Review, Internal Auditing, etc.
- Help oversee all required compliance assurance monitoring operations for waste, water, and air regulations at the site, including DOT.
- Oversee the plant's hazard communication program, which entails keeping SDSs current, properly identifying every chemical, keeping an inventory of chemicals, and conducting relevant training and educational initiatives.
- Create and maintain the necessary chemical inventory record systems to meet the needs of regulatory tracking.
- Perform a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for each task, both routine and non-routine, that is done on the job site.
- Exhibit sound judgment in determining the efficacy of safety meetings and the proper degree of mentorship for the safety meeting facilitators based on observations and site-specific evaluation. In charge of our committee to improve work practices and building conditions, serve as chair of the safety committee.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, EHS, or related field
- 5+ years of EHS experience in the manufacturing industry
- Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and ISO
- OSHA 30 certification
- CSP/ASP preferred
