Requirements:
1.) 3+ years of public accounting experience
2.) 3+ years of individual and business tax return experience (including tax prep, review and planning)
3.) 2+ years of people leadership experience
4.) Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
5.) Able to work onsite 2 times a week in Chicago office
What You Will Be Doing
The Senior Tax Accountant will play a critical role in the accounting department of our company, providing expert guidance and support in all tax-related matters. This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax returns, public accounting, and tax review, with a proven track record of success.
Key Responsibilities:
1.) Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
2.) Conduct tax research and provide guidance on complex tax issues
3.) Review and analyze financial statements to ensure accurate tax reporting
4.) Assist in tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities for clients
5.) Communicate with clients resolve any issues or inquiries
6.) Mentor and train junior tax accountants in tax preparation and review
7.) Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
8.) Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting
What You Need for this Position
Must-Have Skills:
1.) 3+ years of public accounting experience
2.) 3+ years of individual and business tax return experience
3.) 2+ years of people leadership experience
4.) Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
5.) Able to work onsite 2 times a week in Chicago office
Pluses (Not required):
1.) CPA, CPA Candidate, or EA
2.) Client-facing experience
3.) Working proficiency with accounting software
