We are an international engineering firm providing cost-effective foundation and site solutions to companies trying to build in unstable environments. As we grow we need a regional engineer to serve as our business development and sales engineer in the Bay area market. Responsibilities include the generation of sales revenues, project lead generation, technical design, and construction support. Sales, promotion, and technical support to owners, contractors, & consultants in the industrial, commercial, and DOT markets, with their geotechnical design solutions. The salary listed here is just the base salary, there is also a very lucrative commission plan tied to this role as well.
What You Will Be Doing
- Assist and support the qualification of leads for our proprietary foundation systems. Successfully implement engineering/bid strategies to close business.
- Responsible for generating sales leads, managing and tracking key projects, and communicating project status via monthly reports.
- Achieve revenue goals for the region through winning proposals and solutions.
- Technical promotion technology transfer, account development, and sales to key specifiers, contractors, and owners for implementation of our geotechnical solutions.
- Provide value to project teams through the development of cost-effective geotechnical solutions using our proprietary technologies.
- Development of project opportunities (sales leads).
- Coordinate interaction between our internal resources, Licensed Installer, and Client to maximum efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of our services and systems.
- Communicate local competitive activities and development of pricing strategies with the Area Manager and Commercial Director on an ongoing basis.
- Review project geotechnical and structural information and perform project evaluations to examine technical and commercial feasibility.
- Develop preliminary designs for our proprietary technologies.
- Drive technology and product awareness within the defined territory through customer education (Lunch and Learns, etc.).
- Attend key regional conferences and tradeshows to promote our solution benefits to key customers.
- Participate in project meetings and site activities at all project stages (feasibility through construction).
- Review of detailed design submittals and field reports.
- Engineering support and troubleshooting during field construction.
- Preparing project close-out submittals.
- Sign and seal project design submittals.
What You Need for this Position
- 3 to 10 years of geotechnical experience with exceptional engineering and sales skills.
- BS in Civil Engineering required MS in geotechnical engineering preferred.
- Professional Engineering licensure within the Territory who be a real plus, as would the ability to obtain licensure in adjoining states as needed.
- Good understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnical construction.
- Ability to quickly evaluate both technical and commercial viability of opportunities to provide value to project teams. Showing the unique value of our geo-solutions to customers and specifiers.
- Demonstrated track record of creating and managing business opportunities to effectively implement winning engineering and sales strategies.
- Experience specific to the Bay area.
This is a completely remote role, but you must live in the Dallas territory to be able to call on our regional customer base.
