What You Will Be Doing
The Quality Control Inspector (Structural/Civil) will be a full-time, on-site employee providing inspection services related to the Security Electronics and Electrical scope of work as required. Inspectors will also assist with the review of design drawings and specifications, shop drawings, other submittals, and analysis of technical issues. Duties may include (but are not limited to):
- Providing construction inspection and plan review services
- Reviewing contracts, drawings, estimates, and specs to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Overseeing construction progress and serving as onsite liaison with contractor
- Monitoring/reviewing the activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related entities to ensure compliance with design plans and specs
- Reviewing materials for compliance with quality and design specs
- Participating in project meetings and providing input to meeting minutes, documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information
- Ensuring that contractors, architects, and engineers adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment
- Overseeing project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for turnover to the owner
- Other duties as required to ensure project success
What You Need for this Position
5+ years of prior inspection experience related specifically to structural inspections and:
- Bachelors Degree (Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline)
- Prior experience providing similar services on projects of comparable size and complexity
- Ability to work with multiple contractors and multiple fast-paced projects concurrently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices
- Experience in the Justice or Federal Detention Sector PREFERRED
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Prior experience with project-related Construction Management systems
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) is a PLUS
