My client is currently seeking a Plant Manager for a sand mining operation located in Butler, GA.
The position reports to the Area Production Manager. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Supervision of employees related to the muck processing, haul and plant processing in a sand surface operation. - Overseeing proper implementation of safety procedures.
- Assist Area Production Manager with managing P&L through controlling costs to meet budgets and reduce costs to achieve savings.
- Identify deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement.
- Effectively manage staff by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback and providing - development through training.
- Ensure compliance with all Company and Government policies and regulations.
- Assist in mine and pit planning.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
- Ensure processes for quality product production and collaborate with area QC department.
- Actively reaching out and being involved in the local community.
- Responsibility for managing both rolling stock and fixed plant preventive maintenance and repairs by providing cost improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in mining engineering, geological engineering or industry related equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining operations.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and basic accounting principles is a plus.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to develop leadership skills at the lead person and or foreman levels.
- Demonstrated ability in identifying, communicating and implementing best operating practices, including quality, -maintenance, production and safety excellence.
- Proven safety record and excellent compliance in MSHA safety standards for both Part 46 & 48. Possess strong basic math knowledge.
- Basic surveying and mapping skills are a plus.
- Working knowledge of environmental policies, standards and best practices.
- Working knowledge of AggQC and AggFlow is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel and Office is a plus.
