Buyer/Procurement Specialist
Direct Hire/Perm role
Role is ONSITE (sorry no Hybrid/Remote work available)
Work is located in Elkland, PA, on the PA/NY Border
PLEASE NOTE: This role REQUIRES a completed Bachelors Degree.
If you are a Buyer with solid relevant industry experience inside a manufacturing organization, please read on and get in touch as we need this experience ( listed specifically below) for a role in the area near Elkland, PA area, and south of the Corning, NY area, on the PA/NY state line.
TOP MUST HAVES INCLUDE:
In this role as a Buyer, the hired professional will be responsible for procuring goods and services from designated suppliers to support manufacturing at our manufacturing/industrial facility.
Ideally, we need someone with some experience in a manufacturing environment, including procurement experience with raw materials
The right person needs to be comfortable in a manufacturing environment, to include, occasionally getting away from the computer and seeing what's going on the floor and comfortable engaging multiple disciplines (production, maintenance, production planning, safety).
Because of this, please make sure they know that this is not a sit behind the desk role, and that this person will be on the manufacturing floor daily.
Regarding skills and daily duties, while the title is Buyer, there is not a lot of sourcing with this role.
This role will be involved more with planning, with the ordering of the right materials to arrive at the right time based on a dynamic production schedule.
Although work is done using data inputs/tracking on SAP, there is a lot of manual intervention/spreadsheet work to keep up as there is not a lot of storage space at the site and raw materials and packaging are arriving every day.
ERP EXPERIENCE - We would prefer SAP, JDE is also useful, but any previous ERP use/knowledge is useful/helpful in determining the fit.
In terms of what we would like to see in a candidate background, in general, someone from a manufacturing background/knowledge will be a best fit. While not REQUIRED, any previous experience working with the purchasing of Chemicals-PVC Resin, Oxides, or other raw materials used with Injection Molding processes is always a plus.
I this role, the ideally qualified candidate will bring with them:
---> Previous Purchasing/Procurement experience in a BUYER role, ideally 1-3+ years of experience.
---> Previous applicable Buyer experience inside and ONSITE ideally, at a manufacturing facility.
---> Experience working with MRP/ERP Systems, with PRIORITY consideration given to those with SAP specific experience, and even MORE of a priority given to those with the experience/ability to accurately forecast packaging and direct material requirements to support the production plan utilizing SAP MM.
PLEASE NOTE: For this role we REQUIRE a 4 year/Bachelor's degree.
In this role, the ideally qualified candidate will bring with them:
---> Previous Purchasing/Procurement experience in a BUYER role, ideally 1-3+ years of experience.
---> Previous applicable Buyer experience inside and ONSITE ideally, at a manufacturing facility.
---> Experience working with MRP/ERP Systems, with PRIORITY consideration given to those with SAP specific experience, and even MORE of a priority given to those with the experience/ability to accurately forecast packaging and direct material requirements to support the production plan utilizing SAP MM.
