Job Title: Ohio Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster
Job Location: Independence, OH
Salary: $50K-$70K/year DOE
Requirements: Claims Adjusting, WC
- Work closely with and effectively communicate with attorneys, injured workers, MCOs, companies and the BWC in order to properly manage and administer workers compensation claims in the State of Ohio
- Conduct initial/subsequent claims investigation with companies
- Administer the claim process to determine coverage, compensability, and work status of the claimant, salary continuation, and settlement of claims
- Determine when attorney involvement is necessary in managing claims and make necessary referrals
- Determine catastrophic, amputations, death claims, statutory occupational disease, and Permanent Total Disability benefits
- Coordinate with MCOs for C9 (treatment request)
- Review claims and claim reserves for possible settlements and impact on state fund employers premiums
- 1+ years experience in a similar position
- Ability to manage State Fund Workers Compensation
- Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, claimants, medical professionals, etc.
