Mechanical Piping Superintendent

Position Overview
The Mechanical Piping Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the installation and maintenance of piping systems in heavy industrial facilities. This role requires strong leadership skills, project management capabilities, and a thorough understanding of safety regulations and quality control to ensure that all piping work is completed efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all piping activities on construction sites.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Manage project schedules and budgets to achieve timely completion of projects.
  • Lead and mentor a team of pipefitters and technicians.
  • Review blueprints and project specifications to understand project requirements.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure adherence to codes and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance activities for existing piping systems.
  • Resolve technical issues and provide solutions during the installation process.
  • Develop and implement safety training and procedures for all team members.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Piping Superintendent or similar role in heavy industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of project management and construction management principles.
  • Past project size should exceed $5M
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control standards in the industry.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in budgeting and financial management for construction projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Technical expertise in pipefitting, installation, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of mechanical process piping codes and standards.
