Job Title: Labor and Employment Attorney - Defense
Location: San Diego
Base Salary Range: $200,000 to $250,000/year
Position Overview: We are seeking a Labor and Employment Litigation Attorney to join our growing team. This position requires exceptional legal skills, with the ability to provide creative and effective solutions to our clients legal challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop effective strategies to handle Labor and Employment Litigation cases in federal and state court.
- Manage the litigation process from intake through trial, including drafting pleadings, participating in discovery, negotiating settlements, and arguing motions.
- Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial, and represent clients in arbitration, hearings, and mediations.
- Stay up to date with current laws and regulations related to labor and employment litigation.
- Handle all aspects of the litigation process, including counseling, motions, discovery, and trial.
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion in providing client advice and legal counsel.
- Represent clients in routine court appearances, depositions, mediations, and hearings.
- Draft legal memos, opinion letters, and other documents for presentation to clients.
- Analyze and research complex legal issues and develop legal strategies.
- Keep abreast of recent changes and developments in labor and employment laws.
- Prepare and maintain pleadings, correspondence, court documents, and other legal documents.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in labor and employment litigation, with a demonstrated track record of success.
- Excellent writing, verbal, and analytical skills.
- Experience with Moot Court, Law Review, and judicial clerkship is preferred.
- Experience in single plaintiff employment litigation.
- Demonstrated success in counseling and client-centric solutions.
-Knowledge of and familiarity with legal research, law journals, and legal writing techniques.
- Ability to make routine court appearances, participate in depositions and mediations, and negotiate settlements.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the California Bar.
