The Field Mechanic (Heavy Equipment) is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing Construction Equipment as well as helping onsite when needed.
- Diagnoses problems and performs minor mechanical repair and standard maintenance of construction equipment (including, but not limited to, bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front end loaders, yard trucks, forklifts, and company vehicles).
- Experience with Komatsu, CASE, John Deer, Samsara software for older equipment etc.
- Inspects and documents condition of equipment for items needing repair or service.
- Replaces or repairs defective parts
- Lubricates moving parts and operates repaired equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks
- Evaluate electrical issues as well as mechanical
- Other related duties as required or assigned.
At Least 5 Years of experience as, and/or knowledge of:
- Repair/maintenance commercial motor vehicles
- Diesel engines, hydraulics, braking systems, electrical systems, drivelines, steering, and suspensions
- Working knowledge and understanding of OSHA rules and regulations
- Diagnose and troubleshoot different systems including engine, transmission, brakes, HVAC, eve lectical, suspension, etc.
