Position Overview:A Grade Foreman is responsible for overseeing all aspects of grading and earthwork on construction sites. This role requires a skilled individual with experience in rough grading, final grading, and fine grading. The Grade Foreman will work closely with the project manager and other team members to ensure that all grading and earthwork is completed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all grading and earthwork operations on construction sites
- Interpret and implement grading plans and blueprints
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, and graders
- Conduct rough grading, final grading, and fine grading to achieve desired elevations and slopes
- Coordinate with project manager and other team members to ensure timely completion of grading and earthwork tasks
- Perform site inspections to ensure quality and accuracy of grading work
- Train and supervise grading crew members- Monitor and maintain grading equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on construction sites
- Communicate with project manager and other team members to provide progress updates and address any issues that arise
- Complete required paperwork and documentation related to grading and earthwork operations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience in grading and earthwork operations
- Strong knowledge of rough grading, final grading, and fine grading techniques
- Experience operating heavy equipment, specifically bulldozers, excavators, and graders
- Ability to read and interpret grading plans and blueprints
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Prior experience in supervising and training crew members
- Knowledge of sitework and clearing processes is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols on construction sites- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
