Cloud FinOps Analyst

Position Overview
We are seeking a Cloud FinOps Analyst to join our team. This role will focus on optimizing cloud costs and implementing financial operations strategies that align with our business goals. The ideal candidate will leverage data analysis to provide insights into cloud spending and develop actionable recommendations for cost savings across various cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze cloud spending patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities
Develop and maintain financial models to forecast cloud expenses
Implement cloud cost optimization strategies, including the use of Reserved Instances and Savings Plans
Collaborate with engineering and finance teams to align cloud usage with budget goals
Prepare reports and dashboards to communicate cloud financial performance to stakeholders
Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and drive accountability in cloud spending

Qualifications

Technical or Financial degree preferred (Computer Science, Math, Accounting, Finance, etc.)
Proven experience in cloud cost optimization and financial analysis
Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
Expert level understanding of Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and similar discount instruments
Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets for data manipulation and reporting
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
