Job Title: Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster
Location: Summit, NJ (in-office)
Salary: $75,000-$85,000/year
Requirements:
1.) Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance or Risk Management (or related field) or equivalent work experience.
2.) 3+ years of claims adjusting experience, specifically with Workers' Compensation.
3.) Candidates MUST be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Position Overview
The Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster is responsible for managing and evaluating claims related to workplace injuries and illnesses. This role involves assessing claims, conducting investigations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while providing exceptional service to clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and process workers' compensation claims to determine eligibility and benefits.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, including interviews and site visits, to verify the details of claims.
  • Evaluate medical reports and documentation to assess the impact of injuries on claimants' ability to work.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for each claim, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
  • Communicate effectively with claimants, employers, medical providers, and legal representatives regarding the status of claims.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage the resolution of claims in a fair and timely manner.
  • Stay updated on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Provide training and support to junior staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance or Risk Management (or a related field) or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of claims adjusting experience, specifically with Workers' Compensation.
  • Candidates MUST be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and investigative skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Professional certifications (ex. AIC, WCCA) are preferred, but not required.
