Assistant Project Manager
Location: Financial District, New York City
A vertically integrated real estate investment and development firm based in New York City is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support its national portfolio of Class A self-storage developments. With thousands of active units and new projects underway, this role is integral to the pre-construction and construction process.
Role Overview:
The Assistant Project Manager will support pre-construction efforts for upcoming developments and assist project managers and field teams throughout the construction phase.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop scopes of work based on construction documents
Compile bid packages and distribute to subcontractors nationwide
Source and prequalify subcontractors across various markets
Manage and respond to RFIs during the bidding process
Evaluate bids for accuracy and completeness; assist in bid leveling
Support negotiations and contract awards with subcontractors
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with strong academic credentials
Background in general construction or a core trade
Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings
Experience with Procore preferred
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Highly organized and proactive with strong follow-up skills
